Western Region Economic Development Officer
Develop West Prince is pleased to host the Western Region Economic Development and Co-ordination project supported by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the PEI Department of Fisheries and Communities. The purpose of this project is to provide specific and strategic support to community organizations, municipalities, and sector groups develop key infrastructure and fill necessary capacity gaps. The project supports regional initiatives with an expanded impact.
Activities undertaken will be done in collaboration with various stakeholders to increase participation, insight, and impact.
West Prince Housing Initiative
West Prince is experiencing an increased demand for housing from a variety of factors. The private sector has responded by increasing the number of apartment units and individuals are constructing family dwellings. Government has also made significant investments in its deeply affordable housing units through agreements with private developers.
The West Prince Housing Initiative seeks to engage tenants, community organizations, and other stakeholders in the non-profit housing sector and generate collaborative ideas to address housing concerns in the region.
