Advocate: We seek to promote the region and its communities and advocate on their behalf to improve local quality of life through renewed infrastructure, improved information and knowledge sharing, and access to resources.

Collaborate: Develop West Prince strives to facilitate and encourage the building of partnerships with the private sector, municipalities, community organizations, and funding organizations to form collaborative relationships to foster initiatives benefiting the region.
West Prince. Our Shared Home.
West Prince is colloquially recognized as the area in Western Prince Edward Island covered by the Westisle Family of Schools. This region includes the Towns of Tignish, Alberton, and O’Leary, Lennox Island First Nation, the Rural Municipalities of Miminegash, Tyne Valley, and Central Prince, and the communities of West Point, Bloomfield, and St. Louis, among many others.
The Region is rooted in Mi’kmaq, Acadian, and Celtic cultures and continues to be shaped by immigration from across Canada and around the world. Almost 15,000 people call this area their home with many others having strong family ties to the area. Agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture, and tourism are staple industries with high concentrations of oyster and potato production. Innovative manufacturing operations, retail sales, and individual entrepreneurs diversify the local economy. Non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and co-operative businesses employ a number of local residents and are key drivers of the regional economy.
Develop West Prince is establishing itself as a part of the supportive ecosystem of services to help the Region grow and prosper. We believe that success for the Region is only possible when dedicated partners come together to leverage individual strengths to achieve shared goals.
